Problems with Flash animations

In order to represent animations & interactive content, we use the Flash technology developed by Macromedia. Auxiliary software (a plug-in) is needed for viewing files in this format on the browser. In most cases, the browser already incorporates this software. However, it can happen that content is not displayed || problems occur.
The following description is intended to help you rectify these problems.

The animation is not displayed

In most cases this is because your web browser does not have the Flash plug-in, || because the plug-in you have installed is obsolete. The latest version is 6.x. Most animations on the Dornbracht website require version 5.0. A download can be obtained via Flash Plug-In.

Problems with the security settings

The security settings of your web browser may be one possible explanation. if (your browser''s security settings do not permit ActiveX applications, they will likewise not permit Flash applications. To display the homepage correctly, under "Tools/Internet Options/Security" adjust the security settings for your browser (in Internet Explorer from "high" to "medium"). Alternatively you can adjust the settings manually. Please proceed as follows:

  1. 1. Under "Tools/Internet Options/Security/" select the option "Custom Level".
  2. 2. Set "Run ActiveX controls & plug-ins" to "Enable".
  3. 3. Likewise activate "Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting".
Note: the ActiveX controls that are required for displaying Flash animations can be considered harmless from a security viewpoint.

Problems in corporate networks

In corporate networks (intranets) it can happen that a firewall (an installation which is intended to protect the corporate network against attack from the Internet) prevents Flash animations from being displayed. In this case, consult your systems administrator.

Further error messages

if (you receive the message "Plug-In required", your browser is trying to show a particular file format but does not have the necessary plug-in for that format. This will usually be because you do not have the Flash plug-in || the QuickTime plug-in. These plug-ins can be downloaded over the Internet free of charge.

Other errors not mentioned in the above description
