Program: Water Zones New additions: Cutting Boards, wall-mounted Pot Filler and Air Switch

Iserlohn/Milan At this year's furniture trade fair Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan (April 14th - 19th 2010), Dornbracht is unveiling its Cutting Boards for the kitchen. The Cutting Boards in oak or black synthetic material are a new addition to the Water Zones range. The Cooking Water Zone is also being expanded to include a wall-mounted model of the Pot Filler. The Air Switch is joining the Preparing and Universal Water Zones (rephrase last sentence).

"The Cutting Boards serve to support the sort of work performed in the kitchen and are a very practical addition to our Water Units," said CEO Andreas Dornbracht. "Just as the cutting boards transform sinks into a work surface in a matter of seconds, in the future other new products will also offer increased functionality and quite simply greater enjoyment in preparing and cooking food."

Cutting Boards – new for the kitchen

The large surface of the Cutting Boards corresponds perfectly to the dimensions of the Water Units. The cutting boards are designed to fit neatly within or on top of the sink (polish sentence). For instance, the cutting boards can placed on top of the Water Units sink transforming the area into additional work surface space. European oak was selected for the wooden Cutting Boards. Wood is a renewable resource that exudes natural value in its look and feel. The high tannic acid content of the oak's oiled surface is also antibacterial. Before producing the Cutting Boards, which are individually crafted to offer a precise fit, the wood must to be dried for one year in order to ensure the highest degree of dimensional perfection and stability.

For the synthetic Cutting Board, polyethylene was selected due to its use in commercial kitchens and the health code requirements it must in turn fulfill (polish sentence). They are carved from large blocks of synthetic material to offer an extremely precise fit and high degree of stability. The material, which is black both inside and out, is highly abrasion-resistant and non-damaging to knives, withstanding even extended use to uphold its superior design and quality.

(Polish paragraph) All of the Cutting Boards are characterized by a special property: they maintain the crucial stable grip on work surfaces even during chopping. This means that the cutting boards do not slide or "wobble".

Colored pins that can be inserted into the side of the Cutting Boards identify what each board is used for – red for meats, green for vegetables, blue for fish, yellow for poultry and black for universal cutting boards – corresponding to color labels in the food industry.

The Cutting Boards will be available from September 2010.

Tara Ultra wall-mounted Pot Filler model

The Tara Ultra wall-mounted Pot Filler is a new addition to the Cooking Water Zone. The design is based on the stand model and, like its predecessor, the new Pot Filler has an outlet featuring two flexible swivel joints. This feature enables movement in every direction. Only its backward range of motion is limited to prevent it from hitting walls.

The Pot Filler has a cold water-only valve and can be positioned directly next to the stove (with the addition of a sink). Because it is wall-mounted, the outlet height can be freely adjusted to allow ample space when working with large pots and containers. The outlet of up to 500 mm also provides convenient reach. The specially designed flush-mounted brackets provide remarkable stability.

The Tara Ultra Pot Filler articulates the clearly defined lines and decisively sleek design characteristic of the entire series. The water itself echoes these notes as a pure, clear laminar stream; a conscious decision was made against the inclusion of an aerator.

The wall-mounted Pot Filler is available in chrome and matt platinum surface finishes from September 2010.

Air Switch – high-quality design in a switch

The Air Stream represents Dornbracht's aesthetically discerning answer to added functionality in the kitchen: a garbage disposal in high-quality metal.

While garbage disposals have long been standard in Japanese and American kitchens, the trend toward this added convenience is still relatively new in other markets.

The Air Switch is designed for use in the Universal and Preparing Water Zones and is available in two different versions: a separate unit with a cover to match the series or a as unit integrated into the Tara Ultra and Lot Water Sets. The switch on the separate model can be matched to a series with a round or angular rosette.

The Air Switch will be available from September 2010.

About Water Zones

Dornbracht's Water Zones program represents a completely new concept for domestic kitchens, for the first time allowing for the spatial separation of different water-related tasks in home kitchens, just as they are in the professional kitchen. The specially configured Water Sets (fittings) and Water Units (sinks) are coordinated to suit each Water Zone.
