From raw to refined: Dornbracht presents the first Atelier Edition “The Rock”

The original power of raw rock reinterpreted: With “The Rock”, fittings manufacturer Dornbracht launches its first Atelier Edition. The classic MEM is given new expressiveness with sculptural rock-shaped handles made of solid metal. The design opens scope for individual interpretations – for example in combination with natural stone.

Organic presence
“The Rock” combines the clear, minimalist look of MEM with an innovative, organically shaped handle design inspired by rocks. The handles are the result of elaborate craftsmanship and modern technology: They are individually milled, sanded, polished, and finished, making each one truly unique. The weight of the material gives them a special feel that grounds you with every touch. “We have designed something that feels authentic and natural,” explains Caroline Schmitt, General Management Dornbracht. “In times of digital reproducibility, the immediate presence of ‘The Rock’ is an expression of originality and sensuality. The craftsmanship lends the handles a strength of character that cannot be copied.”

From “The Rock” to “Your Rock”
In addition to the curated version made of metal in combination with MEM, “The Rock” can also be customised. For example, it is available in versions made from other materials, such as marble, or in combinations with other design series.

Plea for customised design
The Atelier Editions are expressive design objects that are created in small quantities, combining excellent craftsmanship with progressive ideas. As a plea for striking design approaches, they challenge conventions – and with their special interplay of materials, finishes, and manufacturing techniques, they are an invitation to dare to be more individual. “Our Atelier Editions serve as inspiration. They exemplify the fact that there are no limits to creativity. At the same time, they are an appeal to completely rethink the design of faucets,” says Caroline Schmitt.

The Editions are part of the Dornbracht Atelier portfolio: the new business segment of the manufacturer from Iserlohn realises customised solutions starting at one piece – and opens complete design freedom, from technical adaptations to individual handles and finishes, to truly unique pieces.
