One stands for minimalism in its purest form, the other inspires with its unconventional, geometric design: Meta and Lulu are united by their iconic look, aesthetic longevity, and worldwide popularity. Just in time for Dornbracht's 75th anniversary, the two fitting series created by Sieger Design are also celebrating a milestone birthday: Meta turns thirty years old, Lulu twenty.

The epitome of minimalist modernity
The centrepiece of individual bathroom concepts for three decades: With its clear lines and the perfect parallelism of lever and tap body, Meta has long since become the epitome of minimalist modernity and elegance. Time and again, the iconic design takes on new forms and demonstrates its unique changeability in the interplay of finishes, colours, and materials – a characteristic that contributes significantly to the faucet's enduring success story. When Meta was first introduced in 1995, the minimalist design was still considered exceptionally radical. The name already anticipated the versatility of the design. Even during the original design process, the aim was to adopt an overarching “meta perspective”: The aim was to find an ideal form that was not tied to short-lived fashion and style trends.

Radically changeable design
To emphasise its changeable aesthetics, Meta was developed further. In 1996, for example, Meta Luce was launched, which surprised with translucent, coloured plastic handles and sleeves. Two years later, Meta Tec combined Chrome finishes with decorative elements made of matte aluminium for the first time. Finally, in 2002, a new generation of Meta was introduced, which was refined in material and form: an archetypal design, which was adapted again in 2019, and supplemented by the even more minimalist versions, Meta Pure and Meta Slim. Today, Meta opens more design freedom than ever before – not least thanks to a comprehensive programme expansion in 2022. Even beyond the standard portfolio, the design classic offers numerous customisation options, which Dornbracht Atelier can implement from a quantity of just one.

Unconventional and playful
Like Meta, Lulu shows no signs of ageing: The fitting with the delicate lever and characteristically rounded edges has been available since 2005. Striking and soft at the same time, it appears open and playful. Its contours, which provide a subtle counterpoint to the rectangular basic shape, lend Lulu visual lightness and tactile comfort. The unconventional design blends harmoniously with the soft, organic shapes that characterise contemporary bathroom architecture – and adds charm and freshness to both bold colour schemes, and understated ambiences.
