Dornbracht, Gira and Revox together at imm Cologne 2012 - Technology composition for the experience of comfort

Cologne Under the title 'Connected Comfort - Home Automation for the Senses', the project partners Dornbracht, Gira and Revox are coming to imm Cologne 2012 to show the benefits of integrative linkages among different building technologies. The highlight of the joint trade-fair presentation is a multi-functional wellness shower: Intelligent control technology interlinks individual water, light and sound scenarios. The wellness experience of tomorrow promises to become a journey of the senses for body, mind and soul. To just unwind and give the soul free rein: In everyday life, this simple plan turns out to be a genuine luxury. Those who would rather not wait for the next holiday trip can certainly seek out the nearest wellness offerings. The effect, though, is usually short-lived. As everyone knows, stress and the hectic pace of everyday life are always quick to return.

As the co-operation among Gira, Revox and Dornbracht shows, relaxation for the senses need not be a rare extravagance. Under the title 'Connected Comfort', the solution providers for intelligent building technology, complex audio systems and high-quality design fittings for bathrooms and kitchens present a joint technology composition to promote an experience of comfort every day. As part of a living and bathroom space installation, the project partners provide visitors to imm Cologne with a demonstration of the potential of integrative, modern technologies. Along with light and sound technology, the installation also automates and networks the control of the entire water supply within the living space on exhibit. The three project partners are represented with different product applications.

Visitors to the trade fair can make the rounds of the exhibition space, experiencing the technological components both individually but also and particularly in interplay with one another. In the residential realm, Revox offers an impressive sound experience with its high-end audio system. Integrated in the exhibition is a Revox Multiroom System with the capability of playing sound into up to 32 rooms.

The Gira touch sensor "Tastsensor 3" can be used to call up light scenes for individual situations and moods and together with Dornbrachts eTool provides two options for the control of the choreographies in this joint presentation.

One highlight of the exhibition and of the co-operation among Dornbracht, Gira and Revox is to be found in the bathroom. There, a multi-functional shower combines the potential of all three brands while ensuring a tremendous shower experience. The special part about it: Water, music and light controls converge in minimalist design and can be tailored to users' individual preferences and needs.

With its Ambiance Tuning Technique, Dornbracht sets the stage for a new form of shower experience. The elements of the system can be combined in a variety of ways, allowing for individual planning and configuration of shower applications. No matter whether it is a tropical rainshower from the JustRain rain sprinkler, a broad waterfall from the Watersheet flow spout or the soft washing of the body from all sides with Waterbar – all of the important functions can be called up using the eTool operator's panel. Programmable choreographies of different water quantities, intensities, temperatures and outlets permit the creation of tremendous moments of wellness in combination with intensive-colour light scenarios and musical backgrounds.

Depending on mood and physical constitution, the user can choose from between stimulating and energising scenarios in the morning, relaxing and equilibrating compositions for after-hours or an all-round pampering programme for in-between times. This is also assured by the excellent audio components by Revox, which are invisibly integrated behind the shower
wall. The design of this innovative shower is quite intentionally minimal as a way to permit the atmospheric mood of the space and the sensual experience factor during usage to develop as intensely as possible.

The connection with the Gira HomeServer 3 enables the extension of the choreographies into the complete ambiance of the installation. It collects all the information and data and issues control orders. The HomeServer can also be accessed by mobile users via iPhone or iPad.

The design of the installation was created by Nik and Soryonne Schweiger of 3deluxe - biorhythm.

Revox components in Gira switch design (above, left) make it possible to operate individual rooms in the Multiroom System and play a favourite music playlist from the central audio server for example. The individual shower scenes can be saved on the Gira button sensors (below left).
