Mike Meiré curates and presents objects and street kitchens from different parts of the world. An exhibition depicting the sculptural quality of authentic objects and their cultural identities. The decontextualization in this process allows for an approach with different aspects: Which materials is such a kitchen unit composed of, which origin does it have and how does it communicate? Mike Meiré: "This sort of field research gives me hope for developing different forms of expression and style-breaking aesthetics."
Global Street Food was presented for the first time in the context of "Passagen" on the occasion of imm Cologne in 2009. This was followed by the exhibition during "Art Basel" at the Vitra Design Museum.
