From the initial creative spark to the visionary product: at Milan Design Week 2026, fittings manufacturer Dornbracht invited visitors to engage in dialogue. Under the theme “What inspires your vision?”, the showroom in Milan’s Brera district became a space for inspiration. Among the highlights of this year’s presentation were not only the premiere of the new Coya bathroom tap range, but also an exclusive preview of the Hyra multifunctional kitchen tap.
Focus on personal exchange
The company made a successful appearance on the world’s largest stage for design and architecture. “Our showroom offered everyone interested the opportunity to engage in dialogue with us – about what inspires their vision,” says Caroline Schmitt. Natalia Castellucci de Kolb, who forms the General Management together with Schmitt, adds: “For us, personal exchange was at the forefront. We wanted to gain new perspectives and explore ideas in depth together with our guests.”
Curated formats, such as the “Meet the Artists” talks held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the Dornbracht showroom, served as catalysts for this discourse: creative minds such as Konqrit founder Cecilia Garcia Galofre, designer Ed Ng from AB Concept, architect Fabian Freytag, and interior designer Roelfien Vos reflected on what inspires their creative energy and explained their personal working methods. These conversations continued over an exclusive dinner at the Milan home of content creator and entrepreneur Paolo Stella, which, with its blend of historic architecture and modern design, provided the ideal setting.
Launch of the new Coya design series
The presentation of the new Coya design series proved to be a further source of inspiration. The innovative bathroom tap, designed by Sieger Design, combines circle and square to form a harmonious whole. In the showroom, an abstract, aesthetically staged living scenario brought this fluid geometry to life.
The presentation also demonstrated how the new series can be customised with the help of Dornbracht Atelier, for example through bespoke handle inlays made of natural stone. The second Atelier Edition, “The Knot”, created in collaboration with the Hong Kong-based design studio AB Concept, was also unveiled for the first time. Coya’s characteristic handles were given an original interpretation for this, with the traditional Ruji knot – a symbol of good luck particularly popular in Asia – serving as the template. The versatility of Coya and the design diversity of Dornbracht Atelier were further illustrated by an extraordinary art performance: artist Catalina Ruiz painted washbasins made of fibre glass reinforced concrete from the Argentinian design brand Konqrit live on site. This resulted in unique design pieces featuring floral motifs, which were completed with matching Coya handles.
The pleasure of drinking water as an everyday ritual
Visitors to the showroom were also treated to another new product: Hyra. With this multifunctional kitchen tap, available from autumn 2026 and designed by Sieger Design, Dornbracht is setting new standards for the dispensing of drinking water: it combines iconic design with intuitive operation and high-performance filter technology. On request, it dispenses chilled or hot, still or sparkling water of the highest quality and purity – thus turning its enjoyment into a consciously celebrated daily ritual.
Creative collaboration with Jung
Dornbracht’s central theme for Milan Design Week 2026 – “What inspires your vision?” – was underscored not least by a further collaboration. Together with Jung, one of the leading manufacturers of modern building technology, the company presented a selection of six finishes that visually and tactilely harmonise fittings and switches. In a skilful interplay across different trades, both brands demonstrated how interiors can be coordinated – and what it means to think of spaces holistically.
