Stockholm Furniture Fair 2013: Premiere for Dornbracht at Sweden's largest trade fair for furniture

Stockholm / Iserlohn As part of Stockholm Design Week, Dornbracht presents its innovative portfolio of products for the bathroom and kitchen for the first time at the Swedish trade fair for furniture, the Stockholm Furniture Fair (5-9 February 2013) providing a first glimpse of its new brand vision – Culturing Life. A central element of the Dornbracht philosophy is its longstanding effort to further develop and professionalise product and system solutions for bathrooms and kitchens. The company also regularly receives international design awards for its product designs and has distinguished itself through its sustained commitment to cultural endeavours since 1996. This innovative approach is both an inspiration and an engine for the development of the fresh ideas, technologies and languages of form for bathroom and kitchen that Dornbracht is now presenting for the first time at Sweden's largest furniture trade fair.

The focus of the roughly 50-square-metre fair stand in Stockholm is on the Horizontal Shower, a bathroom application. With this application, for the first time one can shower lying down with the Ambiance Tuning Technique (ATT); it also offers a selection of pre-programmed choreographies that deliver water of varying temperatures, intensity levels and volumes. The application combines six Water Bars inserted in a broad shower field above a reclining space, along with an eTool as the main operating element. At the Stockholm Furniture Fair, visitors can experience the function and form of vertical showering either directly or in the form of a video installation.

Along with Horizontal Shower, Dornbracht also presents Selv, a line of modern fittings that responds to the contemporary wish for a new honesty: materiality, functionality and design recede in the space into which they are inserted. As a result, the fitting is a natural match, in classic and modern interiors alike, for broad individual freedom of presentation.

With its scaled-back design and predominantly white surfaces, the trade-fair stand itself creates a puristically clear setting for a presentation of products for the bathroom and kitchen. Discreetly integrated into the trade-fair presentation alongside Selv is a selection of series, including Imo and the kitchen fitting Lot, creating a calm, minimalist exhibition removed from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair. A centrally positioned Culture Table brings visitors and business partners together for a lively exchange whilst offering information about Dornbracht's commitment to culture: through its long-standing sponsorship of select exhibitions and projects within the framework of Dornbracht Culture Projects, the company continues to pursue its mission not only to shape the development of designer bathroom and kitchen fittings, but to be groundbreaking in a cultural sense as well.

At the Stockholm Furniture Fair, Dornbracht also offers a glimpse into its new brand vision, Culturing Life, which the company already presented in January at Living Kitchen, part of the imm Cologne trade fair. A long-standing occupation with the kitchen and bathroom as habitats, the investigation of recurrent actions and new technologies all work together to constantly lead Dornbracht to new issues, new ideas and new products. This is how Dornbracht is forever designing – cultivating – life anew.

You will find details on products for the bathroom and kitchen in the respective press releases.
