To a state of total exhaustion.

The percussionist Dave Nuss from New York grew up in an evangelical Christian camp. Since then he has attempted to drive away the spirits of his youth using percussion instruments. By the middle of the 1980s, Nuss had started to play in the trash metal band Angkor Wat and in the 1990s he became a member of the No-Neck blues band (NNCK). Nuss himself describes the band's music as improvised, experimental, ritualistic and deeply moving. It's highest goal: a state of trance.
For Performance 2 / Wood on Wood, the artist performed solo for the first time. His intention was to play to total exhaustion, total emptiness. Performance 2 / Wood on Wood was performed and documented on film while the Art Forum was taking place in Berlin.
