After stints at some of the most high-profile interior design firms, including Vicente Wolf Associates, Tina Ramchandani stepped out on her own to form Tina Ramchandani Creative. Her warm, modern aesthetic - what she calls Soulful Minimalism® - has garnered countless awards and embodies everything Dornbracht stands for. We're honored to have our products featured in many of her projects, including Tina Ramchandani Creative's new Manhattan office.

Tina opted for dark finishes to seamlessly integrate our faucets with her established look. In the kitchen, she chose SYNC to marry her high-quality aesthetics with first-class functionality. For the bathroom, Tina went with the versatile and timeless archetyle - TARA.

Q: What was your first experience with Dornbracht? What drew you to the products?

A: I’ve been familiar with Dornbracht for as long as I can remember. The quality is of the brand along with the clean modern lines is what first drew me in. Dornbracht was the first brand that I saw that had gorgeous, modern looking plumbing fixtures, that truly elevated bathrooms.

Q: Have you used Dornbracht in any of your projects (besides your office)? If so, what made Dornbracht the right choice?

A: Yes, we have been specifying the brand for years. In fact, we used the brand in my very first project when I launched my own studio. It’s easy to incorporate into our spaces because the aesthetics align with our signature look, Soulful Minimalism, and it’s easy to specify.

Q: How do Dornbracht’s five design principles (Personality, Proportion, Precision, Progressiveness & Performance) overlap with your own? Do any in particular resonate more than others?

A: Personality is very easy to identify with, as we try to reflect our client’s personalities in the homes we design for them. Of course we want the spaces to be balanced (proportional), impeccably designed (precise), perform outstandingly and I aim to grow as a person as a designer constantly (progressiveness).

Q: What does the kitchen mean to you personally?

A: Everyone says that the kitchen is the heart of the home, so I won’t be able to find a better description for this space. I grew up in the kitchen – not actually cooking – but watching my mom cook, sitting at the island and chatting away, working on the kitchen table, and it’s not only a comfortable place to be but it’s really where everyone gathers during both formal and informal events.

Q: What does the kitchen mean to you professionally?

A: I love a good kitchen – this is my chance to really give my clients exactly what they want and need. I love cabinetry to be impeccably detailed and have plenty of the right types of storage, I love hardware to feel wonderful so you want to touch it often and I really enjoy beautiful and well designed fixtures. When something is well designed it works, and you don’t think about it. When something is not thoughtful, or even a little off, it’s noticeable. A well designed kitchen is very easy to live in.

Q: What does “German-Engineered” mean to you?

A: Perfection.

Q: Consumers want luxury experiences in their homes now more than ever. What do you look for in products to elevate bathroom and spa projects?

A: I’m always looking for new and interesting ways to create spaces that promote wellness. I like to create a full shower and spa experience in a bathroom, and we’ve begun incorporating biophilic elements such as incorporating nature sounds and even green areas into bathrooms. I love bathrooms, no matter the size, to be serene and a bit of an escape. The only time we really disconnect is in the shower, so we should be able to fully enjoy that experience.
